Strolling Without a Stroller

February 21, 2010 by Rieshy

We've reached a new stage where we can go stroller-less for short walks with the Littles. It is amusing how many things a witless adult is content to walk past without exploration. Not so the Littles. Every manhole cover, sewer grating, pebble, discarded chewing gum, and dead worm is an adventure.

It is also amusing how this pains my husband. He likes to walk- fast. He likes to talk fast while he walks fast. My husband also likes to maintain hand cleanliness. Picking things up out of the gutter is not high on his list of fun.

This is why I love my husband. He strolls anyway and...

He waits for the battle to end,

and he makes me smile.

I love this post! Stopping to look at sticks and chewed pieces of gum make life full! Just remind them not to eat the gum, "it's not candy", as the movie Elf has taught us.

What a happy outing!

I love to take walks, long or short - fast or slow! My husband HATES it! He will do it on occasion, but he makes a BIG deal about it.

Did I mention we live on a pond with a paved trail?! I really need to work on him...

I love to walk with our 2 yr old. We go 1 block and it takes an hour. She likes to sit on the curbs and talk!

Great smile:) My hubs was always the one who would take the kids out of the stroller. Used to burn me up:)

Although you are far away seeing pictures of your family makes me feel close. I remember those special walks with our boys...savour the moments....they are fleeting.
