Sniffle and Wahoo

Today, this little guy began his freshman year of college.  You should have seen those chubby little legs reaching the gas pedal as he drove off.

Do they truly appreciate the self-control required for a mother not to squeal and cry and otherwise totally emasculate them as they walk out the door?

I doubt it.  Sniffle, sniffle, and Wahoo!!

A glimpse into my future. How does a Mother ever prepare for this?

A person would swear that was your current youngest... they look so similar! I'll sniff on your behalf for a couple of minutes, but prefer to focus on the Wahoo of it all. ;) What an exhilarating time for y'all. To watch one head out the door to meet his adulthood head on knowing you did that... you prepared and guided that amazing young man, well that must feel wonderful.

Maybe for Halloween Luke and Sam can dress up as, "Me and Mini-Me."

I've already moved on to the next worry. First semester grades in December. How's that for thinking ahead?

Wow! I bet you feel that the time has flown by. I can't even imagine to be honest. My son is only 3. I have to say, that your son looks ADORABLE in that picture. Love it!

You are so strong. i'm sure you didn't even let out a peep. I on the other hand, would be grasping at chubby legs...because if they go to college, I'm going to college.

Classes for my freshman started yesterday as well. Sunday afternoon he told me he had his "fall-back" plan in case engineering did not work out - he will switch his major to creative writing. Here's to great first semester grades in engineering! (My apologies to any creative writers out there - he's better suited to engineering than writing!)

No they don't appreciate it.

*sigh* I truly feel for you. It must be hard.
